Title: CIBIL settled or written off status Change to apply car loan
Post by: rajithpoovaiah on September 23, 2013, 03:02:12 PM
Hi this is Santhosh from Bangalore

I had used Axis bank Credit card in 2006-07 and I had some outstanding of 9,500/-, Jan 2013 they called and asked me to pay 22,850/-(with interest). My financial condition was not good so couldn’t pay full amount and went for settlement of 9,000/- When I called Customer care they said if you pay the amount 9,000/- we will take off your name from CIBIL so I agreed and got a letter saying “written off”. I was not educated about the CIBIL and what happened if it is “written off”.

Now after 8 months I am ready to pay rest of the amount and clear it, but the bank is not ready to take it can you please guide, what I should do to update the report to “null or paid off”. Is this going to effect to go for car loan?

Thanks,
Santhosh

I am a bit surprised that the Axis Bank doesn't want money. Try contacting the Banking Ombudsman in Written correspondence and even if he declines, there is nothing much you can do about it.
