Help required Upgrading my CIBIL record

Dear Folks,

             I have paid full an final amount towards the closure of my personal loan in HSBC.
             It was not a settlement as I paid the same amount as instructed by the bank.
             The have issued an NOC towards the same as well.
             
             However the bank is refusing to update my status in CIBIL from WRITTEN OFF.
             Please suggest the appropriate steps to update my CIBIL record.

Soumya,

You probably meant Updating your CIBIL record instead of Upgrading, right ? Once you go for settlement, I have always Advised to Negotiate for CLEAN CIBIL record. But you were probably not aware of it. Go through the threads in this forum and you will know. Also read www.cardbhai.com, I have written there on why Banks can't give defaulters a clean chit unless they settle all the pending dues.

To get it settled, you may have to pay little more but this time negotiate for clean record.
