Sales and margins across formats of various Future Group entities. Sales Rs / SFT

Big Bazaar 8500 25‐27%
Food Bazaar 14000 15‐17%
Pantaloon 8500 40‐45%
Central 8200 30‐35%
Home Town (including electronics) 5000 25‐28%
E‐Zone 10000 10‐12%

Future Group is present in the food retailing space through Food Bazaar, KB’s FairPrice and Foodrite, recently launched high‐end retail food format Foodhall.

E‐Zone, with INR 5,000 mn sales inFY11, is not a profitable business. The inventory is in retailer’s book (as opposed to in manufacturer’s book in  international market). The current format requires INR 3,500‐4,000 per sq ft inventory, thereby increasing working capital requirement.
