French Lifestyle Brand Lacoste has established sizable presence in India (http://www.omretail.com/2013/01/single-brand-outlets-lacoste-open-lifestyle-stores-choose-location.html) with Exclusive Brand Outlets, Flagship Stores, Lcoste Polo Lounges and Lacoste Live Stores. They now have around 50 stores in all.
Why Lacoste does not want to go for e-Retailing in India ? Lacoste does not intend to get into e-retailing except for perfumes. E-retailing would dilute brand since most e-commerce is currently based on the discount format. By not engaging in e-retailing, they get to know which sites are selling counterfeit Lacoste apparel. E-retailing strategy differs from country to country.
