Sensex and Nifty Company Analysis / Asian Paints Target
« Last post by resh on October 24, 2021, 07:32:26 PM »
Here is research Note from CLSA on Asian Paints with Stock Target Price,

In an unprecedented inflationary (raw material prices up +21% in 1H) setting, price hikes have been limited (7.5% in 1H), which led to its weakest gross margin and Ebitda margin delivery in the past 24 and 12 years. Management expects calibrated price hikes to aid a return to an 18-20% Ebit margin in the next few quarters. Amid concern over raw material shortages and supply chain challenges, Asian Paints has built up very large inventory which should enhance its competitive positioning. Capturing medium term margin stress, we lower our earnings estimates and reduce our target price from Rs3,600 to Rs3,500

Nifty 12-month forward P/E trading at 22.3x, close to its recent peak of 23x and higher than its long-term average of 16.3x. Price to book
value ratio (P/B) at 3.7x and Market cap to GDP ratio at ~122%, are significantly above long-term averages. Mid-caps trade at a 11% premium to large-caps, higher than its 10-year historical average premium of 1%.

Nifty EPS grew a robust 15% in FY21, the highest growth in a decade. Bloomberg consensus earnings growth expectations for FY22 and FY23 stands at 34.8% and 17.1% respectively. Pace of earnings revisions have turned positive over the past month.

MidCap Stock Picks / ICICI Securities - Review
« Last post by resh on September 29, 2021, 08:50:53 AM »
IIFL Analysts have the following recommendation on ICICI Securities Ltd,

At its analyst day, ISEC presented its multifaceted product propositions and enhanced digital capabilities, including its revamped mobile applications and website. Over FY21-25, management has set a target of: a) capturing >10% market share in incremental customer additions, b) increasing customer assets to Rs10tm (Rs4.4tm currently), and c) reducing cost-to-income ratio to <40% (~45% in FY21).

ISEC will also look to further diversify its revenue base and reduce dependence on broking income, by having 3-4 significant product lines. ISEC remains the best play on financialisation of savings and increasing retail participation in equity. ROEs should remain healthy at 45%+. We value the stock at 25x FY23ii EPS or Rs890/share.

Mutual Funds in India / Conservative Hybrid Debt Vs Fixed Deposit
« Last post by resh on September 16, 2021, 09:06:40 AM »
I would like to Demonstrate on why your Long Term Savings must be in Conservative Hybrid Debt Fund which is (at least 75% Debt + Up to 25% Equity). The Biggest Advantage is if you are in 30% Income Tax Bracket.

1.   You get benefit of Indexation
2.   After Indexation, you pay Income Tax of 20% on the remaining gain, only if you decide to encash. (In case of Fixed Deposit, Bank says so much interest has accrued, they deduct TDS & you will have to compulsorily account for it in your IT returns every year)
3.   To avail benefits described 1 & 2 above, you should hold it for at least 36 months
4.   In case of Emergency, it can be liquidated anytime within 36 months and in that case it will be considered as Interest Income and clubbed with your regular income
5.   Plan and Invest the Surplus Amount which you want to be Safe & will hold for more than 36 Months.

Illustration of Advantage of Investing in Conservative Hybrid Debt
Let us assume your Fixed deposit earns 6%. You pay 30% Income Tax, therefore you have actually earned 6.0 - 1.8 = 4.2%

Let us also assume that your investment in Hybrid Conservative Debt Fund yields 6%. Now you get benefit of Inflation, which let us assume is 5%. 6.0 - 5.0 =1.0% is the actual gain on which you pay IT at rate of 20% (irrespective of the Tax Bracket you are in), which means 6.0 - 0.2% = 5.8%

Actual Yield of Conservative Hybrid Debt Fund is at least 1.5% Higher than Fixed Deposit. In that scenario, the net gain will be 7.5 - 5.0(inflation) = 2.5 and with 20% Tax Rate you earn 7.5 - 0.5 = 7.0% Vs 4.2 in FD.

Thus you tend to net gain 2.8% in a year and imagine the compounding that can happen over 10 years & that too in a safe manner.

NOTE: Consult SEBI Registered Adviser before Investing. Use "Direct Plan" investing in the Conservative Hybrid Fund.
