CIBIL settled status Change
« on: February 20, 2012, 01:27:16 AM »

Dear Sir,

First of all , Thank you very much for all your suggestions to the forum memebers like me.

I did few settlements ( 2 CC & 1 PL ) in the past due to some financial problems and lack of knowledge
then banks reported to CIBIL that Account is ( Settled and post write off settled ) My CIBIL score is 719.

Now I want to pay the remaining/Negotiated amounts to the banks and remove settled status from CIBIL. Is it possible ? Should I ask for any doscount from the bank for below HSBC CC ? It's High.

HDFC Credit Card  -  settled in 2007 -  3,500 rs   ( Negotiated amount )
HDFC Personal Loan - Settled in 2011 - 20000 RS ( Negotiated amount )
HSBC Card card  - Settled in 2011 -  1,64,000  ( Negotiated amount )

Please give me your suggestion for my case.

Thanks again,
Naveen.

Please can anyone respond to my question above ...Its urgent for me .

I have another question :
I have received my CIBIL copy and my score is 719 ( 2 cc - settled - 1 PL in P write off settled Status)
How & where to check defaulter status in CIBIL copy ?
Depends on Score ? Settled status ? or Over due amount ?

Please clarify.

Thanks again
Naveen.

My 2 cents,

The Status itself indicates the net-worthiness of the consumer. It will not clearly say DEFAULT but as mentioned by CardBhai in his First Post, http://www.dalalstreet.biz/forum/cibil-credit-report-score/understanding-accounts-enquiries/ See attachment, Settled, Written OFF etc mean the consumer has not paid what he actually OWED to the Bank and will be classified in the Risk category.

For Normal Closure of Accounts the STATUS Column will be BLANK.

Your Score Seems OK. Not Too Terrible. You can get a new Credit Card or Something and Start Building Credit History.

On a Case to Case Basis this is Possible. Depends on How old is your case. You directly touch base with the Bank and they will Assist you. But they will demand a BIG Share so NEGOTIATE HARD :-)
